Did you know the human body was designed to not have any aches, pains or illnesses and to live for hundreds of years? According to the national and global health organizations, the numbers of cases are growing daily for chronic illnesses and diseases such as Heart disease, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, Cancer, Obesity, Arthritis, Asthma and Strokes, to name a few.  If the body is designed to never be sick, why are there so many illnesses and diseases?  The author of Soul Speak: The Language of Your Body, Julia Cannon was a registered nurse in Intensive Care and Home Health for over 20 years. She then was trained in Reconnective Healing and Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (#QHHT). The daughter of #DoloresCannon, Julia now travels the world to carry on her mother’s legacy of teaching QHHT and to teach the secret language of our bodies and who we really are. For more information about Radiate Wellness, our practitioners, services, classes, and events, visit us at https://www.radiatewellnesscommunity.com/, “Like” us on Facebook as Radiate Wellness, LLC; and follow us on Twitter @RadiateKC. If you enjoy this podcast, please subscribe, rate, and review wherever you are listening. Michael McPherson grew up in a typical midwestern American household: church on Sundays and sports as soon as he was old enough to walk. As a child, Michael was sensitive to the energies around him. Because his family was so emotionally and sexually repressed, he grew up thinking that there was something wrong with him that made him different from the rest of his family. In his young life, when it came to sex, Michael was both paralyzed with fear yet desperate to learn more. That fear drove Michael to explore his sexuality “behind closed doors” and adopt shame as his self-punishment, a burden he carried well into his late twenties all because nobody was brave enough to have an open conversation with him about sex.In his book Everything You Never Learned About Sex: Take Back Your Masculine Power & Use Your Sex Energy For Good (http://www.changemakers-books.com/), an all-inclusive look into a man’s world, Michael shines a light on what it was like for the men of his generation to mature sexually, and why so many still haven’t.Since the beginning of 2019, Michael has offered his time and energy as a mentor to both men and women desiring to grow in the areas of sex, sexuality, intimacy, inner-child work, and divine union. People often think of registered dietitians as the “Food Police,” or perfect eaters who never eat dessert. Heather Fiore is neither of those things. Most dietitians went into the field because they overcame a struggle with eating, which sparked an interest in nutrition. Registered dietitians are taught not to be judgmental about their clients’ food choices, and most of them aren’t because they know how hard it can be.Heather’s struggles with eating started around puberty. She didn’t like how her changing body developed a disordered eating pattern of restricting and bingeing. As a teen, she had a short “success” with Weight Watchers, but once she stopped, she regained the weight she lost and then some. Instead of learning healthy eating habits, the message she got was that some foods are “good” and some foods are “bad.” This way of thinking did nothing for the guilt and shame she felt when she overate and made poor food choices – in fact, it amplified it. Her negative body image and disordered eating continued through college, during which time her weight climbed to an all-time high despite regular physical activity and attempts to control her eating.During her first nutrition class, she heard a lecture by Terry Garrison, author of the book Fed Up. Terry talked about getting away from the diet mentality through size acceptance. Though it took her a few years to really internalize this message, she never forgot it during her years of study. The concept of size acceptance was what finally helped her break the cycle of disordered eating and start enjoying food without guilt. Armed with the knowledge of nutrition she gained in college, Heather worked on developing healthy eating habits that made sense ;and allowed for treats as frequently as she wanted to prevent that feeling of restriction. Now she loves food as much as she always has, and she enjoys it more!Heather’s transformation from disordered eating, weight-obsession, and negative body image to a healthy lifestyle, positive body image, and freedom from guilt about food is something she doesn’t take for granted. She worked hard to put food in its proper place in her life, and she wishes the same for all women.Learn more about Heather’s practice in Lawrence, Kansas, at https://www.freestatenutrition.com. Jessie Gray, the visionary of Flying Pig Improv in Wichita, Kansas, loves working and playing with people who want to soar. To do that in improv, she creates a safe and fun environment where teachers, attorneys, artists, film-makers, restaurant servers, entrepreneurs, caregivers, performers - literally, everyone, can take risks, explore their own genius, and literally celebrate “mistakes” as they make them. Every game, every scene is an opportunity for gold. And each person in the room makes a huge impact on the experience.Jessie has more than 40 years of stage experience from coast to coast as an actor, director, producer and choreographer.A few years ago, she became fascinated with the spontaneous and unscripted world of improv. After intensive study in the San Francisco Bay Area (where she lived for almost 30 years), she began to perform, and then to teach classes, and then to direct and coach improv troupes weekly. She was a regular performing troupe member of Awkward Face at Pan Theater in Oakland, CA, and Flash Mob Musical Improv in San Francisco. She also teaches an annual workshop at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico as part of the summer Creative Arts Festival as well as other improv workshops around the country by request.A theater alumnae from Wichita State University, she learned from the best: Dr. Richard Welsbacher, Joyce Cavarozzi, Mary Jane Teall, Audrey Needles, and Gina Austin-Fresh among others. She also was a student of improv notables in California’s Bay Area, which include David Alger, David Razowsky, Rachael Hamilton, Tracy Burns, Mick Laugs, and Los Angeles-based Meisner coach, Matt Chait. And now she has brought her vast experience and deep knowledge back to her hometown of Wichita, Kansas, where she has built a new improv home at Flying Pig Improv.Check out Flying Pig Improv’s classes, workshops, and performance schedule at https://www.flyingpigimprov.com.For more information about Radiate Wellness, our practitioners, services, classes, and events, visit us at radiatewellnesscommunity.com, “Like” us on Facebook as Radiate Wellness, LLC; and follow us on Twitter @RadiateKC.If you enjoy this podcast, please subscribe, rate, and review wherever you are listening.
